Day 1: Beijing
Arriving Beijing. You will be met by our
guide at airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Beijing
Day excursion to the Great Wall and the Ming
Tombs. Optional Peking Duck Dinner tonight.
Day 3: Beijing
Full day tour of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden
City and Temple of Heaven.
Day 4: Beijing / Hohhot
Morning sightseeing begins with a visit to the giant pandas
at the Beijing Zoo. Proceed to the Summer Palace, then take
an evening flight to Hohhot and head to your deluxe hotel.
Day 5: Hohhot / Xilamoren
Morning program features the Grave of Wang Zhaojun, Favorite
concubine of Emperor Yuan of the Western Han Dynasty, the Five-Pagoda
Temple and the Minority Museum. Travel by coach to Xilamoren
in the afternoon. Enjoy a music and dance performance in the
evening. Stay overnight in a yurt.
Day 6: Xilamoren
Begin the day by touring the grassland and pastures.
Visist herdsmen's home. Watch or join the locals in horse
and camel riding. Wrestling and archery. Spend another
night in a yurt.
Day 7: Xilamoren / Hohhot
Return to Hohhot by coach and transfer to your hotel.
Excursions in the afternoon feature the Da Zhao and Xiao Zhao Temples.
Dinner is served at the hotel.
Day 8: Hohhot / Datong
Explore Hohhot on your own. Take a train to Datong in
the afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
Day 9: Datong / Beijing
Today's highlight is to visit Yungang Grottoet. Extending
about a mile from east to west, these fifty-three grottoes house
some 51,000 buddhist statues. Visit the Hua Yan Monastery
or the Nine-Dragon Wall if time permits. Take an overnight
train to Beijing.
Day 10: Beijing
Arrive in Beijing in the early morning and transfer
to your deluxe hotel. Spend the day at leisure and explore
the city on your own.
Day 11: Depart Beijing
Departure transfer for your flight to next destination.
